Description
BMW rod bearings have become an infamous talking point among M5 and M6 owners and in some cases they have failed before 50,000 miles. Rod bearings are wearing out sooner than expected and their replacement should be considered a required preventative maintenance item before 70,000 miles.
As a company were replacing rod bearing replacements and carrying out engine builds on the S85 when the cars were still available to buy new.
When we carry out rod bearing replacement, the following parts are used
- 10x MAHLE upper rod bearing shells
- 10x MAHLE lower rod bearing shells
- 20x ARP rod bolts
- OEM Sump Gasket
- OEM BMW oil pickup tube O-ring
- Oil & Filter change - MOTUL 8100 Power 5w50
If car has a build date of November 2005 or earlier, it might have the old design Vanos line, we recommend updating this to the new design. Additional cost of £395.00
Engine mounts are not as prone to failure with this model but if required the are an extra cost of £210.00
